LET’S SAVE OUR ARSEHOLES
You’ve either got a shock or lured because of the title, I take this opportunity to build on it.
Dear friend,
Do not presume that I have gone mad .I am not doing it for some social interest .Nor am I trying to stir the nation with some ideological thoughts ,gain publicity and later on save a seat for my ass ,in the Political melodrama .I have no philanthropic interests for this matter. It’s simply a selfish interest that I am entertaining. I hardly cared for earth ,water or other NATURAL RESOURCS , I was more concerned for my parents ,my show ,my life – being an RJ and for my personal belongings until I took charge of my little kitchen .
I was never a great cook, but am trying hard, and thus I am beginning to know of the sources and resources available for cooking .That drew my concerns to the ultra important, scarce and lifeline - WATER.
BMC declared water cut .People using a bucket for their daily ablutions, have begun using one mug .Can you believe that? How can one wash his shit and bath with just half a bucket of water? But people do so .But seriously, that’s not the problem I am talking about.
A few days back, a friend of mine residing at a posh society of Mumbai ,told me how he and his friends miraculously got a 24 hrs water supply .It was a blessing in disguise .They thought, “What?, Why? Where? Would mean their loss so, better keep silence”. Moreover the water was clean, so they started using it for all purposes until one day. He along with his friends got rashes all over their bodies and their skin itched .They checked the water again ;the water smelled foul .They sent a complaint to the society authorities and to everybody’s shock, the society had to make repairs against a seepage in the sewage pipeline that ran adjacent to the societies water pipe. Thank God! The society had a different connection for drinking water.
That’s not all .From last one week our society is getting muddy water .First day, I thought “Oh God! That should not be a History repeats itself case.” I confirmed with the neighbours .They said it was fine to use the water. However, we have no other choice. We have to boil, filter and use the water for cooking purposes. But that is not a permanent solution. I was wrong to think that such problems can happen only to people living in slums. I was so wrong! It can happen with anyone and anytime.
I am not blaming any one .I know it’s our fault. I feel like scrapping away the chapter of Natural resources, I read when I was in High school .It lied to me; it said water is a renewable resource. It should have been a little futuristic.
Its weird, but I have begun counting the cups of water I use for cooking and I am seriously more concerned about it than “how many bucks I have in my BANK account”.
I am scared, you can laugh aloud. It doesn’t bother me coz I know you will get your share of tears and scare soon .Even God won’t help then. He gave us the power to decide and act, but we screwed up everything.
Thus friend, if this has opened a brink of your eye please,
- Don’t wash your cars with running water .It wont grow in size. A Maruti 800 won’t turn into a Mercedes Benz.
- Don’t leave taps open while you shave or brush etc.
- Have a garden in your house; water the plants .It will save the water table under your house.
- Throw water in a plant not over a cemented platform.
- Make arrangements for your used water to go to your garden.
- MOCK people who waste water .Yeah, it helps !
- Dirty fewer utensils.
- Don’t throw stuff here and there, let the dirt reach its divine destination - Dustbin; it needs extra water for cleaning.
It’s our good luck, if we understood. But if we dint, then we should save our Arseholes, because when God with try to get even with us, He will not spare the rod but will simply use it to….(it’s a famous Hindi slang I don’t want to mention it) we will soon experience it .
